Short version: 14-day full refund on your first subscription. Cancel any time after that with no further charges. Refunds beyond 14 days at our discretion, considered case-by-case.
This policy explains how refunds work for BrynForum managed Flarum hosting subscriptions, operated by Zealand IT Ltd (company number 06895694, registered in England and Wales) trading as BrynForum.
1. 14-day full refund
If you cancel within 14 days of your first subscription on any tier, we will refund 100% of the amount paid, no questions asked. This honours UK consumer-rights expectations for distance-sold digital services.
To request the refund, contact us via the contact form with your order email and a brief note (a reason is appreciated for our learning but not required).
2. Cancellation after 14 days
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Lemon Squeezy customer portal or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future billing immediately. Your forum remains accessible until the end of the current billing period; we will not charge you again.
We do not pro-rate refunds for partial-month cancellations beyond the 14-day window. The exception is genuine service failure on our side — see the next section.
3. Service-failure refunds
If we cause material disruption to your service (extended downtime caused by our error, data loss outside the agreed retention policy, repeated failure to deliver promised functionality), please contact us. We will agree a pro-rated refund or service credit based on the impact. We do not currently offer a contractual SLA, but we honour reasonable expectations of a managed hosting service.
4. Refunds we will decline
To be fair to other customers, we will decline refund requests where:
- The subscription was used to host content that breached our Terms of Service and was suspended on that basis;
- The request is for a renewal period after the 14-day window, where no service-failure claim applies;
- Repeated refund requests on the same tier are made by the same account holder.
5. How refunds are processed
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, Inc., our merchant of record. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Lemon Squeezy. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer — typically 5–10 business days.
Sales taxes (VAT, GST, equivalents) collected by Lemon Squeezy at the time of purchase are refunded in proportion to the refunded amount.
6. Upgrades and downgrades
If you upgrade mid-cycle (e.g. Small → Medium), Lemon Squeezy pro-rates the price difference. The 14-day refund window resets on the upgrade for the new tier's difference (not for the original tier's payment).
Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle, with no refund for the higher tier already paid.
